Babara Kruger Style Art - The Prisoners of Yesterday
1) What do you like about your art?
I like the way the background turned out. It is very grainy and blurry, but it makes the figure walking as well as the words really stand out. I like the way the picture is not completely black and white, but has a few dark colours in it. This also contributes to making the words stand out. Another thing I like is the way the colours in the writing stand out from the background. That's what catches your eye right away.
2) What do you dislike about your art?
I dislike how in some places, the texture looks a bit too grainy. This is especially significant in the lighter areas of the background. I dislike how the words take away from the background. The background is not really that noticeable even though it is really important to the piece. I dislike how the figure in the picture is a bit distorted and deformed because of the filters used.
3) What message are you trying to give?
I really want the road in the picture to represent the journey of life. The words mean that our world has too many people that are hurtful and that live in the past because maybe they were hurt in the past, but they have to realize that the past is over. It means that we have to keep going on our journey of life and help other people to move on and forgive everyone and be forgiven from everyone that has hurt you or that you have hurt in your life.

I like the way you chose a subtle picture, when the temptation may have been to directly illustrate the sentence that you created. I would still like to see this in black and white with some red too.
